It’s not my fault… the victim syndrome …

You sometimes ask yourself: "But why can't I detach myself for years from this man who criticizes everyone, is impulsive, doesn't recognize his mistakes, diminishes others, and often disrespects me? Why was this put in my way when I am a good person, and I am doing my best with him? Why doesn't he admit his mistakes, doesn't he apologize?"

But did you know that if he confessed his mistakes, he would feel diminished, a lesser person... To confess his mistakes is to make himself fragile in your eyes and in the eyes of others, this is not easy to do, when you have not worked on yourself. It is therefore difficult for him to question himself, because when we are caught in these moments, our self-image is modified.

It is also possible that the person is afraid of the consequences, whether it is to lose esteem, status, shell, the love of the other, and to find himself alone. The ego sometimes uses behavioral force to forget to listen, to avoid seeing its faults; and it thus camouflages the fact that it has not been fair by keeping itself in a position of strength.

His need for love, for attention, for being right, is stronger than common sense, than what is right to say or do. It is complex a human being when he tries to protect himself, to survive in an ambiguous situation. He often becomes like a small animal who is ready to do anything to exist and be heard.

And did you know that behind its operating mechanism is also the fear of being rejected, of being imperfect or unpleasantthat criticism is also a form of victimization, and that of making oneself the victim of the story is a kind of way to defend oneself as wellA force expressed, a power relationship.

If life were to reveal to him who he really is when he criticizes, he would probably become too hard on himself, he would reverse the criticism. A person in the extreme who sacrifices himself, or who gets depressed, that's what he does in a way. They internalize their unhappiness, they focus their problems, instead of externalizing them by criticizing others.

To discover that one has made a mistake and to admit it, to repair it, is an art of wisdom of the highest order. And without spiritual knowledge, one can only repress or express oneself ambiguously.

One day wisdom brings us to the highest level of empathy that is possible. We get to talk to ourselves and say, "Have you ever made a mistake or a criticism?" And so we realize that everyone does it to defend themselves, and to learn.

One day we become able to talk to the other, to de-dramatize, to disarm, without any inferiority or superiority relationship... and when we make a mistake ourselves, we understand it as a step leading us to the cause, to an even greater knowledge.
